We have been in communication with the district throughout the summer. This coming week we will meet with  Superintendent Mary Kreger and HR Director Tom Pederstuen  to work through much of the details for fall which pertain to our bargaining unit.  We have  an updated list of questions and concerns and will share the answers here and through our building contacts by the end of the week.

We understand there are so many unknowns and we will face another school year with many changes.  Thank you all again for your continued patience as we work through all of the details.

Message from your Executive Board

Now that Distance Learning is up and running, we understand many of you have questions and concerns about the work you are doing.

First, we would like to share with all of you that our board has been in daily contact with district administrators and are working hard to ensure fairness for all.

Next, the district will continue to update employees on the latest news and changes which may affect our clerical group; please make sure to check your work email daily.  If you have any concerns, please contact your immediate supervisor for additional guidance.  For those of you who have contacted Human Resources and have not heard back, please be patient as they are working as quickly as they can to follow up on your questions.  If you have additional questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to us at 196RAVECA@gmail.com

In addition, our spring member meeting which was scheduled for April 28^th has been postponed.  More information to come.

And last but not least, thank you all for your hard work, support and patience as we navigate our new normal.

The RAVE CA Negotiation Committee is pleased to announce that we have reached a tentative agreement with the school district.  Please visit our homepage for details.

The 2019-20 Health Insurance rates for 10 month and 12 month clerical employees are now posted to our RAVECA.com website.  In addition, your building representative will be  forwarding an email from the RAVE CA Executive Board detailing this information.  Each clerical employee should receive an open enrollment packet tomorrow.

At the November 5th School Board Meeting, the board will approve a resolution declaring November 12th – 16th as Clerical and Secretarial Appreciation Week.

We have been invited to attend the November 5th meeting and will be asked to stand during the Superintendent’s recognition report.  This will take place during the first part of the evening, however we are free to stay for the entire meeting.

The School Board meeting starts at 6:00 pm on Monday November 5th and is held at Dakota Ridge School gymnasium (through the front entrance to the left).

Please join us for our fall member meeting Thursday, November 8th at 4:45 pm at Scott Highlands Middle School.  Our main topics of discussion will be the Supreme Court ruling regarding the rights of public employee labor unions, and nursing duties being delegated.  Non-members can join RAVE CA at the door.

As many of you may be aware, the Supreme Court recently passed down a ruling drastically changing the rights of public employee labor unions. At this time, we do not know how this will affect our clerical association. We anticipate many nationwide and local discussions in the coming weeks and will pass on details as soon as it becomes available.

We are happy to announce the election results of our spring member meeting.

Kathy Buske has been elected as our new President.  Kim Bowling has been re-elected as Treasurer and Lorrie Buecksler was re-elected to the Member-at-Large position.

Congratulations to all!

In addition, we have received feedback from many members in attendance at our meeting last week and we want to assure everyone that your concerns have been heard.  As your elected representatives, we are all very committed to our Association and moving forward we will strive to be a more positive, united team.

 

 

We have posted several new items to our website so check it out!  

• The new 2017-2019 RAVE CA Clerical Contract has been added and can be found under Official Documents on the Homepage.  The booklet itself is now being printed so expect to see your copy soon!!

• Health Insurance Rate sheets can be found under Benefits.  Open enrollment documents should have been delivered to your buildings on Monday.

• Meeting minutes can also be found under Official Documents.  They are in a Draft format until reviewed at our upcoming member meeting on May 8th.

The district HR and Payroll departments have been working hard implementing all of our contract changes.  As communicated previously, the 1/15 check will include new wage rates and 403(b) contributions, and the 1/31 check will include retro pay, insurance adjustments and retro 403(b) contributions.  After this is completed, expect to receive a hard copy of our new contract at your building, and also posted to our RAVE CA website.
