Negotiations

Over the last several months, our RAVE CA negotiation team has been meeting regularly to review and update the clerical agreement we have with ISD 196.  Despite our best efforts, the process is moving slower than we had hoped.  Thank you for your continued patience as we work together to bring all of you the best possible results.  As soon as we have reached a tentative agreement, we will notify our members.

Sincerely,

The RAVE CA Negotiation Team

Updates Coming

We have been in communication with the district throughout the summer. This coming week we will meet with  Superintendent Mary Kreger and HR Director Tom Pederstuen  to work through much of the details for fall which pertain to our bargaining unit.  We have  an updated list of questions and concerns and will share the answers here and through our building contacts by the end of the week.

We understand there are so many unknowns and we will face another school year with many changes.  Thank you all again for your continued patience as we work through all of the details.

Sincerely,

The RAVE CA Executive Board

Hybrid Teaching for Fall 2020

With the district announcement that this fall will be a hybrid teaching model, we understand there will be many questions. The district design team is still finalizing plans for the hybrid model, which they plan to share August 10th.   We want to assure you that we have been in communication with district administrators throughout the summer and will continue to do so as this plan evolves.

If you have a specific question, please email 196RAVECA@gmail.com.  We will gather questions and will post updates on the RAVECA.com website and through your building contacts.  Please continue to monitor your district email regularly.

Thank you for your patience as we all adjust to this new plan and work together with our district to make this fall a great one for both our students and staff!

Updates regarding childcare

Today we met with several district 196 administrators and directors to discuss the on-going need to support childcare in several of our elementary schools.

A plan is now in place to start 2-week rotations by 10-month clerical staff for childcare support.  This will start on Monday, April 13th.  If you are one of the first to be selected you will receive a phone call today or tomorrow from your principal/administrator.  If you do not receive a phone call, this means you have not been selected for the first rotation.  The district hopes to start contacting those selected for the next round, April 27th – May 8th, later next week.

Staff needs may change due to a variety of factors, such as enrollment increases. If additional days are assigned, the district will communicate that information in a timely manner.

If you have questions or concerns about your ability to work childcare, please refrain from calling human resources until you have received a call from your principal/administrator regarding you assigned rotation.  The HR department has been extremely busy returning calls and in many cases, it is taking a couple of days to get back to employees.

As you know, we are continually receiving Covid-19 updates so this plan could change at any time, please monitor your district email daily.  You may also find additional resources for families and staff on the district 196 website using the Covid-19 link.

Thank you again for all you are doing to support families, students, and the district.

Sincerely,

The RAVE CA Executive Board

Kathy Buske, Rose Buecksler, Kim Bowling, Julie Emry, Lorrie Buecksler
